The ApCHA World Show was again successful, with entry numbers at 76, the same as 2008. ApCHA would like to thank its sponsors and the people that came from near and far to be a part of this great show, including Bill Bowen, Bjorkman Horse Camp and the stallion owners who donated breedings to the ApCHA.
Wade Smith donated a saddle for the high-point champion of three different shows: the Appaloosa Congress, the ApHC Youth World and the ApCHA Youth World. The high-point champion and winner of the saddle was Colton Smith.
Each youth competitor received excellent prizes, including a winter jacket courtesy of Tractor Supply and a rope halter and lead courtesy of Krum Feed Store. Youth champion Marli Claytor won Tom Baulding spurs, a headstall with bit and reins, protective boots and a championship buckle from Gist. Sam Hixson won the spurs for the most ApCHA ads sold.

Numbers were up for the ApPHA’s 24th World Show, making it a success! Awards and payouts soared to over $65,000, bringing the total amount awarded since our first show in 1986 to $1 million dollars. To enhance the classes, the ApPHA paid money and gave awards through our mare, trainer and stallion programs through 15th place.
Our mare program was also recognized in the ApHC open western and open hunter yearling longe line, awarding participants who placed in the top 15. None of this could have been possible without our sponsors and repeat customers. We appreciate you more than words can say—thank you for making the 2009 ApPHA World Show another success!
