The stallion Scooter Bug G. is part of Gene Miles racing dynasty headed by matron mare Wego Melody. Gene crossed his Appaloosa mares to top racing Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred stallions of the time. He bred We Go Charge to Lady Bugs Moon (AQHA) twice, producing filly We Go Moon Bug in 1971 and Scooter Bug G. on March 25, 1972.
Scooter Bug G. raced as a 2-year-old in 1974, earning a 9-6-1-1 record and $21,345.87. He won the Texas Futurity running nose-to-nose against Deep South. Scooter Bug G. also won the Santa Fe Futurity and came out in front of the 2-year-olds first, second and third division of the Santa Fe.
Gene retired Scooter Bug G. from the track after one season and moved him to the breeding shed. He sired 257 foals during his 12-year breeding career. His foals were versatile, excelling on the track, in halter and under tack.
Out of Scooter Bug G.s get, 105 foals made track starts and earned a combined $394,539.50. Thirty-nine became winners, and six earned a total 21 stakes wins.
